Avalon Waterways is expanding their themed European cruises next year, with three new itineraries focused on European history and politics. The 17 day "Jewels of Central Europe" river cruise will go from Paris to Budapest, while the 13 day "Blue Danube Discovery" will go from Budapest to Prague, and the 12 day "Central European Experience" travels from Paris to Prague.
A diplomacy expert who has worked at the UN, NATO/Warsaw pact, and EU security and economic issues will be joining travelers on all three cruises. They will be giving special lectures which provide unique insight on Central European politics and history. Avalon is also offering a "Tulip Time" cruise to the 2012 Floriade, an international exhibition of flowers and gardening that is held once every ten years in the Netherlands.

The companies have made a lot of money owing to the increasing demand of European cruise. European cruise companies have relocated extra ships to the region with the expectation of making money on heavy bookings. Due to high fuel prices, the air fares soared up which increased the demand of European cruise for Americans, and the cruise lines were forced to reduce prices.
Royal Caribbean, which sent 50% of 22 ships to Europe, has offered some of the cheapest rates among European cruise. Rich Tucker, the head of business development for CruiseDeals.com in Charlotte, said that. "The prices on 2011 European cruise for summer season to Mediterranean are the best they've ever seen," he also added that the travelers must act fast to have a good bargain.
