Growing Trend of Featuring 3-D Movies and Changing Face of Cruise Ships

It wasn't very surprising when Disney cruise ships began showing 3-D animation movies; however, when traditional cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Cunard Line begin to plan 3-D movies in their theaters, a question arises on whether it's good news or bad.

While earlier live music and drama performances graced the theaters of cruise ships, now 3-D technology is dominating the entertainment element of the cruise experience. Last week, Cunard Line, the most traditional of the cruise companies, bowed to the public demand and announced showing of 3-D movies on board.

Hi-tech 3-D theaters which earlier hosted planetarium shows will entertain showing movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and a 3-D version of Opera Carmen, instead of the real thing.
